Filmmaker Producer

Oh, How They Lived - Stories of the Negro Leagues

Byron added Filmmaker to his many credits when he created and produced this TV documentary. It was recorded at Dutchess Community College, Poughkeepsie, NY on February 1, 2001. Byron is the son of Bob Motley who was a chief umpire in the Negro Leagues for several years so he grew up on many of these stories that are now being retold.

The goal of this documentary is to further educate the public about the significant contributions the Negro Leagues and its players made in the 20th century. This will be a must-see for all audiences who not only share the love of the game of baseball but who wish to honour the "major-league" quality of the men and these teams of the 30s and 40s.

One-Man Show Performances

Hitmakers, Heroes & Homeruns

Byron's latest one-man show is inspired by the Negro Baseball Leagues documentary that he is producing. The negro leagues and music were intertwined "back in the day" and this show incorporates many of those elements.

The Men, The Music, The Myths and Me: One Hundred Years of African-American Male Vocalists

This one-man show not only showcases Byron's diverse talents in capably performing different musical styles but also chronicles the historical influence on black history and popular music through song and recounting the stories of several influencial black male vocalists.
